Welcome to our new web site. We trust that this tool will assist you in
learning more about us and what we are doing, by God's help, for the
hurting children of Guyana. This section was designed to introduce to you
the history, work and the mission of our organization. We pray this will
give you a better understanding not only of our passion and our outreach
but also of the magnificent need of HOPE for the children in Guyana.
HOPE Children's Home Mission
& Goals
Located in
Guyana, SO.A., HOPE Children's Home has
been home to over 40 children. Over the past 3 years, our mission has
been and continues to be "To develop the whole child by training
MIND, CHARACTER, and SPIRIT to achieve thier full potential in life. by
providing educational leadership and encouraging ethical development by
raising consciousness in children of their God given skills and
abilities. Promoting commitment to self-betterment by upholding ethical
pillars in the construction of their lives: trustworthiness, respect,
responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship. Teaching children
to be in control of their choices, thus preparing them for personal
stability and the building of strong Christ centered families with a
solid faith in God"
The Church in Guyana
HOPE Children's Home is a ministry of the church
of Christ. It's beginning was with the Enmore church of Christ in
February, 2001. As our plans for HOPE developed, we looked among 3
villages and could not find land to build a structure suitable to our
needs. We are indebted to the Enmore church of Christ for giving us half
of their building for 5 years while we try to find land to build.

HOPE's Staff
The dedicated staff at HCH consist of 15 wonderful ladies along with the
Director, Kenneth Finlayson and his wife Samantha, who is the Supervisor
of Direct Care. These staff take on the responsibilities of food
preparation, laundry, school teachers as well as child care givers. There
are two live in staff, Grandma, who has been with us from the beginning,
and Maria, who joined us later. Click here to
meet the lovely ladies who keep HOPE functional and learn more about
them.
